Apple HomeView: a new smart display with personalized Siri

Apple introduced HomeView, a new home smart display focused on entertainment, family connection, and smart home management. It is built around Apple Intelligence and a new Siri AI, with privacy and security as core design goals.

What it is

Apple HomeView is a 7″ Liquid Retina display (around $299), available starting November 13, 2026. It is meant to be a central home surface: music, FaceTime, camera monitoring, and touch or voice control of Home accessories.

Personalized for the household

HomeView can recognize up to six people and shows each a personalized Home Screen with apps and widgets. Personal content (Messages, Calendar, Reminders, Find My, and more) stays private, while shared photos and music can be enjoyed by the whole household, including guests.

Siri AI

The new Siri AI is positioned as a more conversational assistant with broad world knowledge and onscreen awareness. When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri can use personal context such as Calendar, Messages, and music. Availability starts primarily in English; conversations can continue in the Siri app across other Apple devices.

Smart home dashboard

HomeView works as a Home control panel:

  • lights, thermostat, locks, and blinds — by touch or voice;
  • Home Modular face for favorite accessories;
  • Home Camera face with up to nine livestreams at once;
  • with a supported iCloud+ plan — intelligent alerts from compatible cameras.

Why it matters alongside local automation

HomeView strengthens the Apple Home ecosystem. For mixed hardware (Shelly, Zigbee, Victron, custom routines), a local Home Assistant setup or Smarthome Cloud remains a bridge across brands and deeper automations — especially when you need control beyond a single vendor stack.
